Boeing-Airbus hard pressed to deliver planes on time

Boeing and Airbus struck deals of billions of dollars’ worth of planes at this week’s airshow in Singapore, but delivery is being delayed due to supply chain disruptions, Shukor, Founder, Endau Analytics, said. The aircraft manufacturers are already delayed due to parts shortages and lack of skilled labour, as the travel sector recovers from COVID. Airbus stated it secured a commitment from Vietjet Air to purchase 20 of its A330-900 aircraft, with the first delivery due in 2026. “We will struggle to deliver the orders on time as continued shortages in labour, raw materials, logistics, and energy prevail,” Brendan Sobie, an analyst with independent consultancy Sobie Aviation, said.
