DP World to develop 222-hectare logistics hub in Kenya

DP World is developing the Mombasa Industrial Park, a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Kenya, with the project set to add new industrial and logistics capacity near the Port of Mombasa. The 222-hectare facility will be developed in phases, with the first phase covering 40 hectares.

The project is being developed through an agreement between DP World and GulfCap Africa, a Kenya-based investment and development group. Located less than 20 kilometres from the Port of Mombasa, the industrial park will provide businesses with access to regional and international markets.

The development is expected to support supply chain activity by bringing manufacturing, warehousing and distribution facilities closer to a major trade gateway. For logistics operators, the facility can improve cargo movement efficiency, support regional trade flows and strengthen connections between East Africa and global markets.

The project is part of Kenya’s efforts to expand industrial infrastructure and strengthen its role as a regional trade hub. By combining logistics and industrial facilities, the SEZ aims to support businesses involved in production, storage and distribution while improving access to international markets.
