Qatar Airways Cargo freighter ferries record 18,600 kg crate

Weighing a staggering 18,600 kg, a giant crate was loaded into Qatar Airways Cargo flight, thus taking the carrier and the crate into the record books. The crate made it to the ‘top 10 heaviest pieces ever loaded’ category. Big and heavy shipments are particularly challenging in terms of handling, loading, and load-planning. According to online reports, Qatar Airways Cargo experts on 4 March 2023 saw to it that the enormous cargo was safely flown from Malpensa, Italy, via Doha, Qatar, on board its Boeing 777 freighter, and then on to its destination, Osaka in Japan.
