Sustainability likely to shape GCC freight forwarding: NAFL



The future of freight forwarding in the GCC and globally would likely be shaped by technology, sustainability, and adaptability to changing trade dynamics, said Nadia Abdul Aziz, President, National Association of Freight and Logistics, (NAFL). She said, “The UAE brings in about 3,000 codes per month to develop many industries using programming and developed technology. Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is also investing heavily in technology and infrastructure.” The region has dealt with COVID and turned it into an opportunity to attract investors. An example is Dubai and Abu Dhabi, which have infrastructure to store and export COVID vaccines. Not only that, many medical equipment’s food supplies also. Despite both regions being hot and humid, the facilities and temperature-controlled warehousing facilities along with the national airlines have supported this initiative.
