TIM Aerospace to build 26,000-sq-m MRO hub

Emirates NBD has provided a capital expenditure term loan to TIM Aerospace to finance the construction and launch of its new aircraft maintenance facility at Dubai South. The project includes around 8,000 square metres of workshops, warehouses and office space, alongside an 18,000-square-metre aircraft hangar.
The facility is expected to add capacity to Dubai’s aviation supply chain by providing dedicated space for maintenance-related workshops and warehousing. This could support the storage and movement of equipment and materials needed for aircraft maintenance as activity at Al Maktoum International Airport grows.
The facility, at the Mohammed bin Rashid Aerospace Hub, will have a total built-up area of nearly 26,000 square metres. It can accommodate up to 12 narrow-body or five wide-body aircraft at one time.
“Dubai’s aviation sector continues to grow at pace, driving demand for world-class maintenance and engineering infrastructure,” said Ahmed Al Qassim, Group Head of Wholesale Banking at Emirates NBD.
