The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s aviation sector plans to transport 4.5 million tonnes (MT) of air cargo by 2030 as the air freight volumes reached 1 MT, witnessing a 52 per cent surge as compared to 2023, Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Duailej, President, General Authority of Civil Aviation, said. “This strategy offers lucrative opportunities for the private sector to contribute to realise the country’s ambitions. Numerous aircraft requests and destination openings have been approved, providing avenues for private sector involvement in the sector’s growth and development,” he added.
