Abu Dhabi Customs and the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure (MoEI) have signed a service level agreement (SLA) to improve customs clearance and import approvals for restricted hazardous petroleum materials through electronic integration and data exchange.

The agreement establishes a framework for exchanging information, data and services to facilitate the processing and coordination between the two authorities. The cooperation also covers the regulation and monitoring of restricted import, export and transit shipments, aiming to simplify cross-border cargo procedures and facilitate trade flows through Abu Dhabi. The initiative is expected to improve coordination across the supply chain while ensuring that shipments comply with applicable laws and regulatory requirements.

baid Musallam Al Ameri, Acting Director-General of Abu Dhabi Customs said that the agreement allows Abu Dhabi Customs to integrate and develop a smart customs ecosystem to support seamless trade and efficient supply chains. He added that the initiative would support the emirate’s position as a global trade and logistics hub while supporting digital transformation and economic competitiveness.
