Cold-chain logistics is emerging as a strategic differentiator in a volatile global economy, said Rodrigue Nacouzi, CEO, Transcorp International. The company which specialises in first-, middle- and last-mile services is redesigning supply chains with agility in mind through regional sourcing, diversified routes and AI-powered planning. IoT sensors integrated across fleets and warehouses provide real-time tracking of temperature, humidity and location, Nacouzi noted. Linked to AI analytics, the system predicts failures, reroutes shipments and reduces spoilage, while optimising fleet use and fuel consumption. Sustainability is also driving investments in solar-powered warehouses, hybrid fleets and system-wide efficiency to cut food waste and emissions. Cold chains will shift from being reactive to predictive, powered by data, automation and AI, he said.
