Irina Albanese, Head, DHL Middle East and Africa Innovation Center, highlighted that DHL began leveraging AI decades ago. What we are seeing now is a surge in attention, especially with the emergence of generative AI models, such as GPT. Logistics is inherently data-heavy—we are dealing with millions of data points. With advanced models, we can extract actionable insights to optimise routes, loads, and transport modes, shifting from air freight to more sustainable and multimodal solutions. With advancements in computational power, DHL has expanded its use of Machine Learning and learning to tackle broader logistics challenges.”
