DHL and Scania unveil extended range electric truck

DHL Group in partnership with Scania launched the Extended Range Electric Vehicle (EREV), an electric truck featuring a fuel-powered backup generator, averred Tobias Meyer, CEO, DHL Group. The generator recharges the batteries when they are low, extending the truck’s range and enhancing operational flexibility. “We all want fewer emissions through increased e-mobility in freight transport. We need pragmatic solutions such as EREV and quick political decisions to enable such bridging technologies. We want to decarbonise the transport sector now and regulation should not hinder but support us to do so.”
