DHL Express has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with REGENT Craft to explore the use of all-electric Seaglider vessels for regional and coastal cargo transport in the Middle East. These vessels combine the speed of an aircraft with the convenience of a boat, offering high-speed, zero-emission transport. The partnership will assess how Seagliders can be integrated into DHL’s logistics network to improve efficiency while reducing environmental impact.

Bachi Spiga, VP Network Operations at DHL Express Middle East and North Africa, said, “We are constantly exploring innovative solutions to decarbonise logistics. REGENT’s all-electric Seaglider represents a transformative step in sustainable transport. Through this partnership, we aim to see how this technology can strengthen our regional and global operations.”

Billy Thalheimer, CEO, REGENT, said, “Partnering with a global logistics leader like DHL allows us to demonstrate how Seagliders can enhance efficiency, reduce emissions, and connect key trade routes across the Middle East and beyond.” The collaboration signals a step forward in combining sustainability with cutting-edge logistics solutions in one of the world’s busiest cargo regions.

The initiative, set to begin in January 2026, will initially focus on Middle Eastern routes, with potential expansion to other key markets. REGENT’s Seaglider combines the speed of an aircraft with the convenience of a boat, offering a next-generation solution for short-haul, island, and coastal cargo deliveries.
