DHL invests €300 million to bolster African trade & logistics

DHL Group has announced an investment of €300 million in Sub-Saharan Africa to accelerate trade growth, expand logistics infrastructure, and strengthen supply chains across the continent, said John Pearson, CEO, DHL Express. He said, “The multi-year initiative underscores DHL’s confidence in Africa’s economic potential and supports the African Continental Free Trade Area goals to boost intra-African commerce and global competitiveness.” The investment will span DHL Express, DHL Global Forwarding, and DHL Supply Chain, focusing on upgrading gateways, expanding aviation capacity, enhancing cold-chain logistics, and scaling transport-led and temperature-controlled solutions. These upgrades aim to improve reliability, connectivity, and efficiency across key industries including e-commerce, perishables, energy, and healthcare. said Africa’s trade momentum remains strong despite global headwinds.
