DHL Global Forwarding’s newly launched cargo terminal in Frankfurt is expected to enhance air cargo connectivity between Europe and the Middle East, said Anke Giesen, Executive Board Member, Retail and Real Estate, Fraport AG. With links to the UAE and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the new 24,500 m² hub enables faster and efficient movement of time-sensitive shipments across aerospace, healthcare and automotive sectors. “Fraport aims to increase cargo volumes by over 50 percent, reaching approximately three million tonnes of air freight per year by 2040. Located at Frankfurt Airport, the hub will enhance cargo management for Middle Eastern forwarders and exporters,” Giesen said.
