DP World inks US$3 bn of MoUs for developing SEZs and ports

UAE-based DP World has signed multiple MoUs worth US$3 billion for developing new ports, terminals and SEZs in India’s Gujarat State. Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, DP World Group Chairman and CEO, exchanged MoUs relating to potential investments in Gujarat with the Gujarat’s Addl Chief Secretary during the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024. The signing of the MoUs took place in the presence of H.R.H. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President, UAE, and Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India. The MoUs underscore DP World’s commitment to facilitating trade in Gujarat by developing multipurpose deep-draft ports in South Gujarat and around western coast of Gujarat towards Kutch; SEZs in Jamnagar and Kutch; and Gati Shakti Cargo Terminals and private freight stations at Dahej, Vadodara, Rajkot, Bedi and Morbi.
