DP World has signed an MoU with Japan’s ITOCHU Corporation to expand logistics and supply chain infrastructure across sub-Saharan Africa, said Beat Simon, Group Chief Operating Officer, Logistics, DP World. The pact was signed during TICAD9 in Yokohama aimed at enhancing connectivity and market access for Japanese businesses entering or expanding in Africa. Initial collaboration will focus on fleet and logistics operations, supply chain optimisation and the distribution of commodities and food products. DP World has invested US$ 3 billion in infrastructure and plans a US$ 3 billion within the next five years, he added. By combining DP World’s logistics assets with ITOCHU’s commercial expertise, the partnership seeks to strengthen cargo flows and trade corridors linking Africa and Japan.
