Phase 1 of DP World’s US$ 85 million Sokhna Logistics Park, located within Egypt’s Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE), is scheduled to be operational by year end, stated DP World Sokhna. Construction, which began in November 2023, is 65 per cent complete, with full completion of the first phase targeted for June 2025, a company statement stated. The 300,000 sqm park, integrated with the company’s multipurpose terminal at Ain Sokhna Port, will include bonded and non-bonded warehouses, value-added services, an open cargo yard, an empty container yard, and build-to-suit infra. Integrated with DP World’s multipurpose terminal at Ain Sokhna Port, it will cater to agriculture, pharma, retail, automotive, and textile industries. DP World expects Sokhna’s share of Egypt’s trade to rise from 21 per cent in 2024 to 24 per cent in 2025.
