According to WorldACD data, air cargo volumes from Dubai to the US rose 37% week-on-week from August 3 to 9, while Bangladesh recorded a 15% increase. The gains helped offset declines from other MESA origins on the US route.
The increase in Dubai’s cargo flows highlights stronger activity on the Dubai-US trade lane during the week. MESA exports to the US fell 1% overall, as gains from Dubai and Bangladesh were offset by declines from Colombo and India.
For the Middle East air cargo sector, the stronger Dubai-US flow points to continued movement of goods between the region and North America. It also gives carriers and freight forwarders an indication of where cargo activity was stronger during the week.
The WorldACD report covers chargeable weight for August 3-9 and tracks air cargo movements across major global markets.
Dubai’s 37% increase was the largest gain among the MESA origins highlighted in the report for the US market. Bangladesh’s 15% rise also added to the positive movements on the route.
