Air cargo remains a vital part of global trade, moving just 1 per cent of the world’s goods by volume but representing 35 per cent of trade value. Its speed, reliability, and ability to transport high-value and time-sensitive products make it a crucial component of international supply chains. Recognising its role in supporting this sector, Dubai Airports was awarded the Best International Air Cargo Terminal Award at the third edition of the Arabian Cargo Awards 2025. The award highlights the airport’s efficient operations, advanced infrastructure, and commitment to maintaining high standards in cargo handling.
Currently one of the busiest hubs in the world for international air freight, and with a handling capacity of 2.8 million tonnes, Dubai Airports has consistently invested in modernising its cargo terminals. It has streamlined customs processes and implemented technology-driven solutions to support airlines, freight forwarders, and businesses across the region. These initiatives have helped the UAE maintain its position as a leading logistics and trade hub in the Middle East.
The award also reflects the broader growth of the air cargo sector, which continues to expand alongside e-commerce, perishables, pharmaceuticals, and high-value exports. Dubai Airports’ recognition at the Arabian Cargo Awards underscores the importance of operational excellence, innovation, and customer focus in sustaining global trade flows.
