Dubai CommerCity has signed an MoU with the Global Commerce Foundation to develop e-commerce solutions and explore AI applications that can help businesses expand across markets, with a focus on Dubai, Latin America and the Caribbean.

The partnership will cover applied research, technology trials, market studies and proof-of-concept projects for digital commerce. It will also support knowledge exchange, talent development and business accelerator programmes.

For e-commerce and logistics operators, the use of agentic AI could automate parts of online trade and cross-border processes, helping businesses manage orders, market access and other tasks across multiple markets. Better digital links between companies could also support smoother coordination across international supply chains.

Amna Lootah, Director General of Dubai CommerCity, said: “Agentic AI represents a fundamental shift in the future of digital commerce, as we move from using AI as a supporting tool to deploying it to execute tasks and processes with greater autonomy.”

The partnership will connect businesses, entrepreneurs, investors and technology specialists across participating markets. It will also provide a platform to test e-commerce solutions in real business environments before sharing the results across international networks.

The Global Commerce Foundation has initiatives across Latin America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia-Pacific.
