Dubai CommerCity is investing more than AED1.8 billion ($490 million) to expand its digital commerce infrastructure, adding over 91,000 sq m of office, retail and logistics space by the end of 2028.

The expansion comes as demand from e-commerce and technology companies pushes occupancy at the free zone to nearly 96%. The new capacity is expected to give businesses more space for offices, storage, fulfilment and retail operations as online trade grows.

The projects will be delivered in stages between the first quarter of 2027 and fourth quarter of 2028 across the Business, Logistics and Social clusters.

For e-commerce firms, additional logistics space could help them hold inventory closer to customers and manage deliveries more efficiently. Bringing office, retail and logistics facilities together could also reduce the need for businesses to operate from separate locations.

The expansion will add capacity at a time when online retailers and technology companies are seeking faster fulfilment and stronger links between storage and customers.

Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority, said: “This expansion reflects the growing investor confidence in Dubai’s economic ecosystem.”
