Dubai Customs has introduced a digital monitoring system called Shahin to track trucks and cargo in real time across entry points in the emirate. The system is designed to improve shipment visibility, reduce delays, and strengthen control over goods moving through customs routes.
The platform uses electronic smart seals placed on trucks after clearance. These seals allow authorities to monitor routes digitally and receive alerts if a vehicle changes path or shows unusual movement. The system also reduces reliance on paper processes and supports faster clearance procedures.
Mohammed Al Ghaffari, Executive Director of the Customs Inspection Division at Dubai Customs, said Shahin represents a qualitative shift in customs inspection and cargo management. “We are not just tracking shipments through Shahin—we are building a smart system that ensures trade continuity and protects supply chain flow,” he said.
He added that the platform enables real-time monitoring, reduces waiting times, and accelerates transit procedures while maintaining the highest levels of customs control and security.
Shahin is linked with Dubai Customs’ Green Corridor initiative, which is aimed at speeding up the movement of goods through priority lanes. The combined system is expected to help maintain steady supply chains during periods of global disruption and geopolitical uncertainty.
The move is likely to support faster delivery of essential goods such as food, medicines, and retail products. It can also reduce waiting times at checkpoints and improve efficiency for logistics operators using Dubai as a transit hub.
