Emirates SkyCargo is celebrating 25 years of operations in Chennai, underscoring its role in linking southern India’s exporters with global markets. Upon arrival of flight EK544 from Dubai, operated by a Boeing 777-300ER, the aircraft was welcomed with a water cannon salute at Chennai Airport. “We are delighted to celebrate 25 years of service to Chennai and connecting its people to our global network. We would like to thank M.K. Stalin, Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, for joining us in our celebration,” said Mohammad Sarhan, Vice President, India and Nepal, Emirates SkyCargo. Over the years, the carrier has been pivotal in supporting local farmers, manufacturers, and small businesses by facilitating the movement of high-value and time sensitive goods. In the last fiscal, the freighter ferried 19,300 tonnes of cargo from Chennai.
