Ethiopian Cargo & Logistics Services joined WebCargo by Freightos, bringing digital booking, eRates, online payments, and interlining to its network of more than 145 destinations. This move makes air cargo faster, easier, and more reliable for freight forwarders, giving them real-time access to African-origin capacity for global trade lanes including Europe, the US, China, India, and key African markets.

Dereje Derero, Managing Director of Ethiopian Cargo & Logistics Services, speaking about the partnership with Freightos, said, “We are enhancing our cargo services for customers, including freight forwarders worldwide, by offering digital rates, quoting, and ebooking solutions with faster access and reliable service.”

With the integration, forwarders can search, quote, and book shipments in seconds instead of hours, while digital payments reduce paperwork and speed up transactions. Businesses gain better visibility, high-speed shipment options, and more predictable scheduling, allowing them to plan and move cargo efficiently.

Ethiopian Cargo’s mix of freighters and passenger flights provides priority and high-speed options, and joining WebCargo strengthens intra-Africa connectivity while linking the continent more effectively to global markets.

The partnership benefits the wider logistics sector by simplifying access to African cargo capacity, helping forwarders respond quickly to demand, manage shipments more efficiently, and keep goods moving smoothly.

By embracing digital tools, Ethiopian Cargo and WebCargo are helping the African air freight sector become faster, more reliable, and easier to manage, supporting growing trade needs across the continent and beyond.
