Etihad Cargo has launched twice-weekly freighter services between Abu Dhabi’s Zayed International Airport and East Midlands Airport from 27 October, Stanislas Brun, Chief Cargo Officer at Etihad Airways, said. The move marks another milestone in the UK airport’s growing cargo operations. The new service will offer quick turnaround times, efficient customs handling, and enhanced global connectivity, further empowering businesses across both markets. Operating with its Boeing 777F fleet, the new service strengthens trade links between the UAE and the UK, providing customers with faster, more reliable access to key distribution networks across Europe. Etihad Cargo’s Zayed International Airport facility can handle over one million tonnes of freight annually, reinforcing its position as a leading global air cargo carrier. The addition of Etihad Cargo follows a string of new operators choosing East Midlands Airport, including Central Airlines, Ethiopian Cargo, Saudia Cargo, and Atlas Air.
