Etihad Cargo selects WFS for cargo handling in Copenhagen

Etihad Airways has appointed Worldwide Flight Services (WFS) as its cargo handler for its first-ever service from Abu Dhabi to Denmark. Thomas Schürmann, Head, Cargo Operations & Delivery, Etihad Cargo, said, “The new service will operate four times weekly to the Danish capital using a Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft.” The two already work together on other services, with WFS handling air freight of 5,000 tonnes per year for the airline. Thomas Egeland, Managing Director, Scandinavia, WFS, said, “We look forward to expanding our relationship with the airline to include another station in the WFS network. Winning a major new customer contract like this validates our decision to invest in our cargo services in Copenhagen. The addition of Copenhagen to Etihad Cargo’s existing partnership with WFS will benefit the carrier’s customers and partners and ensure Etihad Cargo can offer the same high standard of cargo handling they have become accustomed to across the airline’s global network.”
