FedEx has appointed Kenya Cargo as its ground handling partner, adding support for cargo operations in Kenya and strengthening handling capacity at key airports in the region.

The partnership will focus on improving ground operations such as cargo processing, coordination and aircraft turnaround times. This is expected to help speed up movement of shipments and improve reliability for airline cargo services using the airport network.

The deal reflects the growing role of African cargo hubs in global logistics, where airlines are increasingly relying on local partners for efficient airport operations. It also highlights the need for faster and more coordinated ground handling as cargo volumes continue to rise.

For Kenya Cargo, the partnership expands its work with international carriers and adds to its operational network in the region. The company will support FedEx operations as part of its airport services.

On the other hand, the development also points to stronger integration of African airports into global trade routes, where smooth ground handling plays a key role in keeping cargo moving without delays.
