flydubai adds three Boeing freighters

flydubai will start dedicated freighter operations on October 1, with three Boeing 737-800 freighters operated under a wet-lease agreement with SolitAir. Based at Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC), the aircraft will add main-deck cargo capacity to flydubai’s existing belly-hold operations. The initial flights will focus on high-demand regional routes.

The freighters will provide up to 23,000kg of additional payload capacity per flight, giving shippers more options for moving specialised cargo. This includes pharmaceuticals, perishables, live animals, dangerous goods, express shipments and aerospace components.

The new operation will also support both scheduled freight services and ad-hoc charters across more than 125 destinations. Using DWC will connect the freighter operation with Dubai South’s wider logistics network, supporting links between air cargo and other transport modes.
