Maersk and Unilever have launched their first electric van in KSA, marking a major push toward decarbonising the Kingdom’s logistics sector. The van will serve Unilever’s retail partner, BinDawood Group, operating within a 50 km radius and covering up to 3,500 km per month. The initiative supports Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to cut 278 million tonnes of carbon emissions annually and achieve 50 per cent renewable energy use. “This is the first van deployment in our Saudi fleet, reflecting our commitment to reducing logistics-related emissions while improving efficiency and value for customers,” said Ahmed Kadous, Head, Customer Operations, Unilever Middle East.
