HIA handles 2.59 million tonnes of cargo in 2025

Hamad International Airport (HIA) reported an operational year in 2025, handling 2.59 million tonnes of air cargo and recording 282,975 aircraft movements, while maintaining an on-time performance of 85 per cent. The cargo performance of the airport reflects steady demand and strong handling capacity, even as global market conditions remained uneven. Volumes saw a slight decline compared with to previous year, which HIA stated was due to global trade and freight markets’ fluctuations. The airport continued to fortify strengthen its role as a key air logistics hub linking Qatar with major global markets.


HIA also expanded its global airline network in 2025, working with 57 airline partners. The airport said this growth supports stronger connectivity for cargo operators and helps improve route options for freight movement through Doha.


This year, HIA will focus on operational performance, including a phased rehabilitation of the eastern runway in line with ICAO safety standards, while ensuring operations continue smoothly.
