In a move that marks the Chinese tech and supply chain giant’s first direct asset investment in the UAE, JD.com has opened a new 10,000 square metres warehouse in Dubai’s Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza), said Feng Guo, General Manager, Middle East, JD.com. Operated by Jingdong Logistics and developed through its property arm — Jingdong Property — the facility pushes the company’s total UAE warehouse count to six. “We are investing not just in physical infrastructure but in the long-term digital transformation of the region’s logistics landscape empowering cross-border trade and supply chain transformation,” he added. The new site stores nearly one million items for a leading electronics manufacturer achieving outbound ‘in-time’ rates above 99.9 per cent. In addition, JD.com plans a 70,000 sqmt smart logistics hub in Abu Dhabi in partnership with Abu Dhabi Airports Free Zone, further enhancing its end-to-end JoyLogistics supply chain solutions across the Middle East
