Jordan’s exports rise 11.2% as cargo flows grow

Jordan’s total exports rose by 11.2% to JD7.464 billion in the first eight months of 2026, with re-exports growing by 63.4%, pointing to increased cargo movement through the country, according to the Department of Statistics (DoS).
National exports increased by 6% to JD6.464 billion between January and August, while re-exports reached JD1 billion. The growth in re-exports highlights Jordan’s role in moving goods through its trade and logistics network for onward shipment to regional and international markets.
Imports rose by 1% to JD13.294 billion during the same period. The slower growth in imports helped narrow Jordan’s trade deficit by 9.6% to JD5.830 billion, compared with JD6.446 billion in the first eight months of 2025.
The export-to-import coverage ratio improved to 56%, up from 51% a year earlier, showing that exports covered a larger share of the country’s import bill.
The increase in re-exports is particularly relevant to cargo and logistics activity, as goods passing through Jordan support demand for freight handling, transport and distribution services. The figures reflect the movement of goods across Jordan’s trade network, alongside growth in locally produced exports.
The figures were published by the DoS in its monthly foreign trade report, as reported by Al Mamlaka.
