The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) is at the 15th position globally in the recently released 2024 edition of the ‘Lloyd’s List of One Hundred Ports’ in the world. Jeddah Islamic Port was raised to 32nd position in the world from its previous 41st rank. It recorded 5.6 million standard containers during the past year. King Abdullah Port also jumped one place and is at the 70th position in the world. It recorded 2.93 million containers in last year. “The figures of growth rates and the continuous increase in the number of standard containers handled in the Kingdom’s ports reflect the KSA’s position as a global logistics power, and the prominent role of the ports sector in supporting the national economy and enhancing export and trade activities and the movement of supply chains,” Omar Al-Hariri, Chairman, Mawani, said.
