Kuehne+Nagel launches largest-ever logistics hub



Kuehne+Nagel has inaugurated its new adidas distribution centre in Mantona, Northern Italy. It is the firm’s largest investment to date, with a massive €350 million investment, which is expected to create 700 new job opportunities. The logistics hub is built across 130,000 sqm area with 20 km of conveyor belts and a shuttle system handling 25 storage lanes with a capacity of 440,000 units. With highly sophisticated infrastructure, it can process up to 500,000 shipments per day. It will feature state-of-the-art, digital technologies that transform contract logistics management, making it faster, more accurate and environmentally friendly. The adidas distribution centre will carry out services in 19 Southern and Eastern European countries, as more than 700 robots will help streamlining the logistics process, ranging from inventory tracking to product distribution.
