LODD Autonomous has received 200 orders for its unmanned aircraft, Hili, since it was introduced three months ago. The aircraft, designed and built in Abu Dhabi, can take off and land vertically like a helicopter using electric power, then switch to horizontal flight like a conventional plane with a traditional engine. Hili can carry up to 250 kg and fly up to 700 km, making it suitable for transporting goods quickly between warehouses and other facilities without the need for complex infrastructure.
Hili completed its maiden flight in November 2025. The company is currently testing two aircraft to ensure all systems meet design standards. Before commercial use, the aircraft must complete aviation certification and receive approval from local authorities. Pilot operations are expected to begin in mid-2027, with full certification planned for 2028.
LODD Autonomous sees Hili as a major step in advancing local manufacturing and unmanned aviation technology. The aircraft will help grow automated air cargo transport and strengthen Abu Dhabi’s role as a hub for autonomous systems. By offering faster, flexible, and reliable logistics solutions, Hili meets rising demand for innovative aerial transport across the UAE and international markets.
