The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, Sultanate of Oman, has begun work on a new 20 km road linking Rakhyut and Dhalkut in Dhofar. The project will cut the current travel distance from 60 km to 20 km — reducing transit time for goods and improving supply chain efficiency. The 12-metre-wide road, built to handle all vehicle types, is likely to ease logistics operations between the wilayats (administrative divisions). The project is part of the Ministry’s efforts to develop the road network and enhance logistical links between the wilayats of Dhofar Governorate in partnership with a specialised local national company.
