Oman is rolling out Logistex to fast-track the growth of its logistics sector and strengthen its position as a global supply chain hub. The move is likely to open new investment opportunities, support businesses, and improve how goods move in and out of the country, making the sector more efficient and competitive.
Led by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology Oman, the initiative will link companies, investors and policymakers, helping them strike deals and form partnerships. This kind of direct engagement is expected to unlock funding, speed up projects and create more jobs in the sector. A strong focus will be on technology and innovation, which can help reduce costs, improve delivery times and make supply chains more reliable. Discussions around sustainability and green logistics are also likely to push companies towards cleaner and more efficient operations.
Startups and new players will get visibility, giving them a chance to scale faster and bring fresh ideas into the market. At the same time, established companies can expand their networks and explore new business avenues. With logistics already contributing billions to the economy, this push is aimed at making the sector more resilient, boosting non-oil revenue and strengthening Oman’s long-term economic growth.
