Oman, Philippines plan new logistics corridors

Oman and the Philippines are set to expand cooperation in trade and logistics, with both countries exploring new opportunities to develop stronger economic connections. The partnership aims to support new trade corridors by using Oman’s location as a gateway to the Gulf and the Philippines’ position as a link to ASEAN markets.

Maria Theresa Lazaro, Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the Philippines, said, “Oman’s strategic position as a gateway to the Gulf and the Philippines’ role as a gateway to ASEAN create opportunities to establish new trade and logistics corridors linking the two regions.”

The cooperation is expected to improve cargo connectivity, support smoother movement of goods and create new opportunities for businesses involved in regional and international trade. Areas such as supply chain development, investment and digital logistics are expected to play a key role in strengthening links between the two markets.

Both countries are also looking to enhance collaboration in technology and smart logistics, including digital infrastructure, artificial intelligence and digital trade solutions. These initiatives could help improve supply chain efficiency and support future trade growth.

The growing economic relationship between Oman and the Philippines is expected to create more opportunities for investment and logistics partnerships, connecting businesses across the Gulf and Southeast Asia.
