Oman, Uzbekistan eye logistics and cold chains

Oman and Uzbekistan are set to develop investment links across logistics, cold chains, manufacturing and food security, with a focus on strengthening the movement of goods between the two markets.
The cooperation will cover cold-chain infrastructure for storing and moving food and agricultural products, alongside manufacturing links connecting production with logistics and export networks.
Oman’s special economic zones, free zones and industrial cities provide infrastructure for production, storage and distribution. The country’s strategic location and network of ports, airports and logistics infrastructure connect products to regional and global markets.
This network also provides a base for companies seeking to expand operations and reach new markets. For the food supply chain, the focus on production, cold storage, transport and distribution brings several stages of the movement of goods together.
Qais Mohammed Al Yousef, Chairman of Oman’s Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones, said both sides stressed the importance of maintaining communication and coordination to identify viable investment opportunities and build long-term partnerships.
