Qatar Airways Cargo has added Van Riemsdijk Rotterdam’s (VRR) specialised RGX and RZY containers to its TechLift service for transporting semiconductor equipment. The containers are designed to protect sensitive machinery during air transport.

The RZY 16ft and RGX 20ft containers have climate-control systems and shock-absorption features. They are also certified for main-deck carriage on Qatar Airways Cargo’s Boeing 777 freighters.

The move comes as semiconductor manufacturers and suppliers need to transport large and high-value equipment safely between production facilities and markets. Semiconductor fabrication machinery can be sensitive to temperature changes, vibration and shocks during transit.

The specialised containers can help reduce these risks while allowing the equipment to move through the air cargo network in controlled conditions. This is particularly important as semiconductor supply chains become more global and companies seek reliable ways to move production equipment.

Qatar Airways Cargo said the containers will support its TechLift offering for high-value and sensitive shipments. VRR’s containers are built specifically for the transport of semiconductor fabrication machinery and related equipment, giving cargo operators a dedicated option for moving oversized and sensitive technology.
