Qatar Airways Cargo has launched a new Ramp Digitalisation Programme aimed at replacing paperwork with real-time digital processes across its ground handling operations. The key element is Ramp Offload and Load Supervision (ROLS), a digital tool that allows ramp teams to manage aircraft loading and offloading using handheld devices instead of paper reports. The system sends instant updates to load control, ensures full reconciliation of ULDs and improves visibility across ramp activities.

Mark Drusch, Chief Officer Cargo, said the programme marks “a major step toward our vision of a fully connected, paperless cargo experience,” adding that digital transformation is central to how the airline plans to improve safety, reliability and operational performance.

The airline says the programme is designed to reduce errors, speed up aircraft turnaround times and improve coordination between ramp agents and load control teams. Features include real-time loading confirmations, QR code scanning, service level monitoring and safeguards such as tail tipping prevention. By digitising these tasks, the carrier aims to create a more transparent and efficient ramp environment.
