Qatar-Saudi back smart logistics for SMEs

Qatar and Saudi Arabia are promoting smart logistics and digital tools to help SMEs improve supply chain management, strengthen trade links and operate more efficiently across regional markets.
The initiative highlighted the role of technologies such as artificial intelligence, digital payments and cybersecurity in supporting smarter logistics operations. For SMEs, these tools can improve the coordination of goods, payments and supply chain processes while helping businesses connect more effectively with regional markets.
Dr Abdulaziz Khalid al-Ali, Managing Director of the Qatar Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution, said: “SMEs represent a fundamental component of the economic ecosystem, and enhancing their ability to adapt to regional changes requires coordinated efforts, knowledge sharing, and the effective use of technological solutions.”
Smart logistics can give smaller businesses better visibility across their supply chains and support more efficient movement of goods. Digital payment systems can also simplify transactions, while AI can support faster decision-making and planning.
The Qatar-Saudi focus on these technologies comes as both markets seek to expand digital capabilities across trade and logistics, creating more opportunities for SMEs to participate in regional supply chains.
