Qatar Airways Cargo has expanded its freighter network by relaunching Boeing 777 freighters to Vienna and adding a second freighter to Warsaw, increasing its overall cargo capacity by 12%. The airline has also raised cargo capacity across multiple global routes through additional freighter operations and higher frequencies.
The Vienna freighter will operate on the Doha–Budapest–Vienna route, while the additional Warsaw service will run via Budapest. These additions strengthen cargo links between the Middle East and Europe, offering more space for shipments on key trade lanes.
For the cargo sector, more freighter capacity means better reliability compared to passenger-linked cargo. Dedicated freighters allow airlines to move large and heavy shipments, including industrial goods and bulk cargo, without space limitations. This helps reduce backlogs and improves delivery timelines.
The increase in freighter capacity across regions such as Asia, Europe, and the Americas also gives freight forwarders more options to plan shipments. More frequent services can help stabilise rates and reduce delays caused by limited space. Overall, the expansion supports smoother cargo movement across global supply chains and improves connectivity between major production and consumption markets.
