Qatar Airways Cargo transported more than 1.43 million tonnes of air freight in the 2025-26 financial year, while maintaining a 12% share of the global air cargo market, according to the airline's latest results. The carrier also launched a new direct freighter service connecting Bogota and Dallas Fort Worth.

The latest figures underline the continued importance of air cargo in supporting global trade flows. The additional freighter service adds capacity between Latin America and the United States, providing exporters with a direct route for moving goods such as perishables, pharmaceuticals and e-commerce shipments.

“This performance reflects sustained demand across key markets, alongside the Group’s ability to adapt with speed and discipline,” said Hamad Al-Khater, Group Executive Officer, Qatar Airways Group.

For the cargo sector, the route expansion comes as airlines continue to adjust networks to changing trade patterns and demand. Direct services can help reduce transit times, limit cargo handling at intermediate hubs and improve schedule reliability for shippers.

Qatar Airways Cargo said it strengthened its position as the world's largest air freight carrier during the financial year. The airline's performance reflects steady demand for dedicated freight services despite ongoing changes in global supply chains and trade routes.

The development is expected to support cargo movement across key international markets by providing additional capacity and routing options for freight forwarders, exporters and logistics companies operating on long-haul trade corridors.
