Ras Al Khaimah International Airport is advancing its cargo capabilities and overall aviation infrastructure. A new cargo airline has made RAK its regional base, completing 100 freight flights carrying high-value items such as pharma and livestock, said Sheikh Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairman, Department of Civil Aviation, RAK. “There is significant growth in both passenger traffic and cargo movement, and we are seeing an upward trend across all areas,” he added. Set to complete its expansion by 2028, the airport will enhance cargo operations, underscoring the UAE’s logistics strength. Located near key global trade corridors, Ras Al Khaimah offers a competitive edge for streamlined supply chains and faster distribution. The airport’s cargo expansion underscores its role in supporting the UAE’s economic diversification and trade ambitions. This expansion in cargo firmly positions RAK as an emerging aviation and logistics hub in the Gulf.
