Riyadh Air, SATS Saudi Arabia ink deal to build cargo hub

Riyadh Air has reached a five-year partnership with SATS Saudi Arabia Company (SATS SA), a subsidiary of SATS Ltd, to deliver dedicated cargo handling services at key Saudi airports, including Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam, said Adam Boukadida, Chief Financial Officer, Riyadh Air. The agreement includes hub management operations at Riyadh Air’s home base in King Khalid International Airport positioning the capital as a premier regional cargo hub in line with Vision 2030 target of handling 4.5 million tonnes of air cargo annually. SATS SA will provide end-to-end cargo services from its 60,000 sqmt Riyadh terminal, which is equipped with specialised zones for pharma, e-commerce, live animals and dangerous goods. Riyadh Air will benefit from SATS’ COSYS+ cargo management system and global network of 225 stations, enabling advanced digitalisation, real-time tracking and seamless cargo connectivity across its future network of 100 destinations.
