Sharjah Airport International Free Zone Authority has added 56 new warehouses in its U2 logistics district, covering around 340,000 sq ft. The expansion brings the total number of warehouses in the zone to about 2,500. The new units include office space, loading areas and higher power capacity to support different business needs.
Saud Salim Al Mazrouei, Director, SAIF Zone, said that the new expansion within the “U2” district represents a strategic addition to the integrated ecosystem of services provided by SAIF Zone across multiple economic sectors.
The expansion is aimed at handling rising demand for storage and logistics space in the UAE. More warehouse capacity helps companies move goods faster and manage inventory better, especially as trade volumes grow. It also allows businesses to scale operations without delays caused by limited space. For sectors like manufacturing and distribution, ready-to-use facilities reduce setup time and lower operating costs.
Each unit offers up to 6,500 sq ft, giving flexibility to small and mid-sized firms. The added infrastructure also supports temperature-sensitive and high-volume cargo by improving handling and storage conditions.
The U2 district is a key logistics hub within SAIF Zone, located near Sharjah International Airport. This location helps companies connect quickly to regional and global markets. The move reflects a wider push in the region to expand logistics infrastructure to keep supply chains stable and efficient
