The General Authority for the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE) has attracted US$ 10.2 billion in investments across 311 industrial, logistics, and service projects over the past 38 months, Waleid Gamal El-Dien, Chairman, announced at the Egyptian-Bahraini Business Forum in Cairo. The investments were attracted from more than 20 nations, he added. Since its launch in 2015, SCZONE has developed world-class infrastructure positioning itself as a global logistics and industrial hub supported by six seaports and four industrial zones. The focus sectors of the zone include pharmaceuticals, textiles, renewable energy, automobiles, and railway feeder industries. SCZONE offers investors a competitive package of incentives, such as tax and customs exemptions, skilled technical talent, and streamlined digital services through a one-stop shop model. Gamal El-Dien emphasised the zone’s localisation strategy is designed to maximise added value and reinforce Egypt’s integration into global supply chains.
