Silk Way West Airlines and Azerpost have signed a cooperation deal that immediately links Azerbaijan’s national postal network with the cargo carrier’s global air routes, aiming to speed up international e-commerce deliveries and strengthen the country’s role in regional logistics. The partnership will see Silk Way West handle international air transport of parcels into Baku, while Azerpost takes charge of sorting, last-mile delivery, and domestic distribution. Both sides are also preparing to launch a fully automated 12,000 sqm e-commerce terminal as part of wider plans tied to the Alat Free Economic Zone.
The agreement is set to bring faster parcel movement, higher cargo volumes, and more streamlined postal flows across borders. With global e-commerce demand rising, the move positions Azerbaijan to attract new logistics activity, particularly along key East–West trade corridors.
The two organisations will also explore joint projects in warehousing, mail processing, and digital optimisation to enhance how goods move through the country. By connecting Azerpost’s nationwide delivery network with Silk Way West’s international reach, the collaboration is expected to create a more integrated logistics chain and support Azerbaijan’s ambitions to become a competitive hub for regional cargo and e-commerce.
