SolitAir adds Port Harcourt, Hargeisa to Africa network

As SolitAir Holding, the UAE’s dedicated express middle-mile cargo airline, expands its trade routes and corridors, the freighter is adding two new destinations in Africa, Port Harcourt, Nigeria (PHC), through Port Harcourt International Airport, and Hargeisa, Somaliland (HGA), through Egal International Airport. The new routes expand SolitAir’s African network to 20 destinations across 16 countries, strengthening its role as a connector between the Gulf and some of Africa’s growing but underserved markets.

Commenting on the new destination, Hamdi Osman, Founder and CEO of SolitAir, said, “Nigeria and Somaliland are important additions to our African network, giving us an opportunity to strengthen connections between the Gulf and these markets. As we continue to expand, we’re focused on identifying destinations where there is clear demand for reliable air cargo services and where we can add value to existing trade flows.”

With SolitAir already having an established East African hub in Nairobi, the new destinations mark its first direct presence in Nigeria and Somaliland, further expanding its reach across Africa and strengthening its position along the continent’s trade corridors.

Additionally, the locations of the two new destinations strengthen SolitAir’s access to key trade markets. Port Harcourt International Airport sits at the heart of Nigeria’s oil and gas economy and is one of the country’s busiest cargo gateways, supporting the movement of goods across the region. Meanwhile, Egal International Airport in Hargeisa serves a market where exports such as livestock and time-sensitive agricultural goods rely on reliable dedicated freighter capacity. SolitAir aims to target a fleet size of 20 aircraft by the end of 2027.
