SolitAir expands UAE–Central Asia cargo links

Adding to its Central Asia network, SolitAir, the UAE’s dedicated next-generation B2B, airport-to-airport express middle-mile cargo airline started operations to Uzbekistan. Focusing on perishables between the UAE and the new destinations, the freighter will carry out operations from Tashkent International Airport (TAS) and Navoiy International Airport (NVI). Alongside Bishkek in Kyrgyzstan and Almaty and Astana in Kazakhstan, the addition makes Uzbekistan the third country in SolitAir’s growing freight network in the region.

Speaking about the new route, Hamdi Osman, Founder and CEO of SolitAir, said: “In a market handling more than 100,000 tonnes of air cargo annually, SolitAir brings additional capacity and network connectivity across the Global South and Europe, supporting Uzbekistan’s ambitions to further strengthen its position as a Eurasian transport hub.” 

Air transport operators handled around 57,200 tonnes of cargo across Uzbekistan during the first half of 2026, with freight volumes driven primarily by major infrastructure investments and shifting regional trade patterns. As SolitAir continues to connect underserved trade routes that have commercial importance between Al Maktoum International Airport and other growing markets, it is also expanding its presence across the globe, taking its current network to more than 60 destinations across 40+ countries and three continents — Asia, Africa and Europe.

The carrier also aims to connect the Global South, opening trade routes that will support growing markets and improve connectivity between underserved destinations, he added. The move is expected to improve trade between the Middle East and Central Asia, while providing additional air cargo connectivity for shipments between the two regions.
